Sara Yanney-Chantanasombut
Director and Dance Instructor
Miss Sara has been teaching dance and tumbling in schools, day cares, and community centers for over 8 years. She is the founder of Jump Into Motion, adjunct faculity for the Ball State University Dance Department, and a Core Artist performing, choreographing, and teaching for Motus Dance Theatre. She started dancing and gymnastics when she was three at various studios in Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana. She grew up with a passion for music and dance, studying Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Modern, Gymnastics, African and Flamenco. She received her BA in Dance from the University of New Mexico in 2003. While attending UNM she studied Modern, Ballet, Jazz, African, Flamenco, Hip-Hop, Folklorico, Choreography, Dance Pedagogy, and Dance History. She has performed with The Blue Tribe African Dance Company, The Bill Evans Dance Company, The Blythe Edens Dance Company, Motus Dance Theatre and The New Mexico Contemporary Dance Alliance. She has been a recipient of the UNM Friends of Dance Scholarship, The Barbara Kiker Award for Excellence in Dance, and The Bill Evans Dance Teacher's Intensive Scholarship.
